If these coatings are exposed to freezing temperatures either in transit or in storage, this can cause irreversible damage and can also render the product unusable.
The Skudo HT Commercial System is protecting troweled concrete from rain, construction debris, and machinery on the Skanska project at the West Carolina University STEM Building in Cullowhee, NC. The final finish will be polished concrete. The 3 year project involves the demolition of the existing Natural Sciences Building and construction of a new multi-storied structure. The new facility is expected to open in 2021 and will feature 185,000 square feet of lab and classroom space.
Skudo HT Commercial System is protecting 15,000 sft of sealed concrete at Chattahoochee Technical College Health Sciences Building in Georgia. This new building will increase the student enrollment in every Health program at the college’s Marietta Campus, training nurses, medical assistants, nurse assistants and medical lab professionals. Skudo provided over 100,000 sft of SkudoBoard rigid protection and HT Commercial system to protect the polished concrete from machinery and foot traffic, rain, mud and snow for the Universities at Shady Grove (Maryland) Biomedical Sciences building. This new 228,000 sf academic facility will provide a collaborative learning environment through shared instructional facilities with three sister schools, the University of Maryland College Park, Baltimore and Baltimore County — with Gilbane Building Company, Concreate Inc.
Yelp announced on Friday that it’s opening a new office in Washington, D.C., as the digital small business directory beefs up its federal lobbying efforts. In a post, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman cited the city’s “proximity to other East Coast locations, top-notch public transportation” and its “thriving technology community,” as reasons for why the company is deciding to open up its D.C. office. Skudo HT Commercial system is currently protecting the front drive of the new High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) building in downtown Houston. The $80 million project is designed to accommodate 750 students and will include an 800-seat main theater with a balcony, dance and music studios, a 300-seat black box theater, rehearsal rooms, a modern outdoor dining area, two levels of underground parking, and an outdoor roof terrace. The general contractor for this project is McCarthy Building Companies.
Skudo is excited to be working with Jeffco Concrete and West Construction on East Mississippi College’s Communiversity workforce development project. Skudo’s HT Commercial System is being used to protect concrete during construction of the $42+ million, 145,000 sq. ft. project which is expected to be completed in 2018. The Communiversity project represents a partnership between local K-12 schools, area industry, and the community college to provide cutting edge workforce and technical training to students. The new facility will include several new classrooms, laboratories, and a manufacturing display, along with office space, conference areas, and food service.
