Skudo Participates as Sponsor at the North Texas Bricklayer 500

Skudo was proud to participate as a sponsor at the Spec Mix 2021 North Texas Regional Bricklayer 500 challenge, hosted by BESCO Builders Equipment and Supply in Fort Worth, TX on October 7th, 2021.

The Regional Series tests the speed, skill, and stamina of bricklayers by determining who can build the highest and best 26-foot-long brick wall, in only one hour. The stakes are high as only one mason per regional competition will advance to Las Vegas at the World of Concrete trade show on January 19th, 2022 with a chance to win the title World’s Best Bricklayer.

There are three categories of competition, with the 2021 results as follows:

  1. High School  (Belton High School): winner Rayan Shah (Mason) and Kyler Peters (Tender)
  2. Apprenticeship level (UMCA): winner Omar Alcala (Mason)
  3. Journeyman Brazos Masonry (Main Prize Regional Winner – going to Vegas for finals):  winner Manuel Prado (Mason) and Eduardo Ramirez (Tender)

The event also raises funds for the Bricks, Blocks, and Bags for Bikes through a charity auction. This year’s auction raised $79,600 which will be used to provide 1,600 bikes to underprivileged kids in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
